This map of the Holy Land focuses north on the left side. Ortelius used as a model the wall map of Peter Laicksteen who had actually visited the Holy Land in 1566. In addition to two beautifully coloured cartouches, the map is decorated with a scene of Jonah plunging from a ship into the mouth of the whale.

Furthermore, De Beschryvingh van de Reysen Pauli en Van de Andere Apostelen, De Gelegentheyt van 't Paradys en 't Landt Canaan Mitsgaders d'Eerst bewoonde Landen der Patriarchen etc. and Het Beloofde Landt Canaan. Engraved by Stoopendael, edited by Jacob and Pieter Keur for their Bible in 1736.
