Wall map, Carte a Figures, of the Archbishopric of Toledo. Map surrounded by 16 views including: Madrid, Talavera, Alcazar, Huesca; Oran; Ventosilla; Toledo; Alcalá; Ciudad Real; Cazorla; Puente del Arzobispo; Guadalajara; la Santa Iglesia; Puente de San Martin y Puente de Alcántara.
Very rare. This strikingly beautiful wall map is one of the first regional maps of Spanish origin (Biblioteca Nacional, 2001:137). Oran, in Africa did belong to Spain at the time and to the archbishopric of Toledo. It carries the Royal and Ecclesiastical Coat of Arms. The city views are finely engraved, some of them being the oldest surviving view.
